Damian Mc Carthy is an award winning filmmaker based in Cork City Ireland.
From 2003 – 2006, Damian studied at St Johns College Cork where he received a Distinction in Scriptwriting and Directing - Fetac Level 5 National Vocational Certificate, Film & TV Production.
His five films to date (He Dies At The End, Hatch, Hungry Hickory, Never Ever Open It & How Olin Lost His Eye) have screened in many prestigious film festivals worldwide including Film4 Frightfest in London, Screamfest in LA, The New York City Horror Film Festival and the San Sebastien Horror & Fantasy Film Festival.
He has won numerous awards including the Melies d’Argent Award, the Delta Film Award, the International Indie Short Film Award and the Cutting Edge Award for Best Emerging Director at the Dead By Dawn film festival in Scotland. He is currently working on his first feature film; a supernatural horror set in rural Ireland.
